Introductory Post

It looks like the WSU Sequential Artists Group now has a quasi-official web-community. We briefly discussed different hosts, but it was agreed that live-journal was both the most user friendly and least commercial (ie no pop-up ads), so here we are. Like anything else done quickly, things may be subject to change, but I hope that this will be something that sticks around. This could be a good thing.

So, in the spirit of the betterment of ourselves as a group, let's get the most out of this that we can. This is an excellent place for questions, comments, and any other kinds of discussions about group activities.

There are a couple things on the group's plate right now that I'd like to remind people of. First, we have the first publication coming up. We're going to try to get that done in the next couple of weeks, maybe devote a chunk of a meeting to formatting (I still advocate one person doing the preliminary formatting for the first issue, with group adjustments being made as we approach the next issue; bureaucracies tend to slow this sort of thing down).

Second reminder is the Membership Book. Nothing been done about this yet. Not the biggest priority, but something to keep in mind.

Third is the 24 hour comics day. We need to get ahold of Rob ASAP and confirm with him that we're going to do that. We also need to get advertising up in the next week or so (as soon as we have the confirmation from Rob). Publicity is our friend.

Along the same note, we should probably make some more ads advertising our group. I really like Mason's stuff, but it's a lot of work to do a new ad every week; I think we should make a 'generic' poster saying that we meet every week, same time, same place.

I'm going to type up some of my personal theories about how I think the group could work best, see what everyone else thinks; this would be a good place to see where people stand without clogging up meetings.
